About the Role
Are you looking for an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' lives? Join Swinburne’s dedicated Student Equity team and play a crucial role in providing invaluable advice and support to current and prospective students.

In this position, you will provide advice and guidance on financial and Housing services, as well as information and referrals both within Swinburne and to external service providers. Your expertise will be utilized through various channels, including targeted resources, group-based workshops, individual appointments, and case management.

As part of your responsibilities, you will assess applications for student equity grants and loans, ensuring that our students have access to the financial support they need to thrive. Additionally your efforts in empowering students to overcome barriers and achieve their academic goals will actively contribute to Swinburne's student success and retention efforts.

About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Demonstrated understanding of disadvantage and experience in providing information, assistance and case work to service student living in complex circumstances.
  • Extensive experience in financial assessment, knowledge on tenancy, equity and financial issues.
  • Experience with supporting students or service users in financial hardship.
  • Excellent administrative, analytical and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and experience with developing resources and promotional material.

Qualifications
A degree in a human service and or financial related discipline with extensive relevant experience in a tertiary or community setting; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
