Student Wellbeing Adviser

UNSW College is a not-for-profit and wholly owned enterprise of The University of New South Wales (UNSW) and provides pre-university Foundation programs, diploma programs and English language preparation programs for students wishing to study at UNSW. These programs are designed specifically for students with an international education background.

UNSW College is seeking to appoint a Student Wellbeing Adviser to provide a range of support services to all UNSW College students, across the student lifecycle, related to Student Wellbeing and living and studying in Sydney. As part of the Student Support team, the Student Wellbeing Adviserwill facilitate group sessions and hold one-on-one meetings with students referred to the service for wellbeing support. The Student Wellbeing Adviser is responsible for making effective referrals as required and works with the Student Wellbeing Manager in handling critical incidents. As part of the role of the Student Wellbeing Adviser, you will work closely with other members of Student Experience team to plan, deliver and review orientation activities.

The successful applicant will have:

• A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. social work/welfare, education or psychology) or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and training
   
• The ability to work independently and as a cohesive team member 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with culturally and linguistically diverse students and communicate information to students in a clear and concise manner
• Experience in a Student Wellbeing, international student advising, or mental health setting
