Peraton is seeking a Summer 2024 Cybersecurity Systems Engineering Intern to join our Melbourne, FL site in support of our commercial software product for command-and-control software-intensive systems for satellites and satellite ground systems.
This position will be on-site in Melbourne, FL and, therefore, requires someone local to the area.
Responsibilities:
- Provide IT, Cyber and basic systems support for the commercial product.
- Support a series of IT Cybersecurity efforts as part of a project team.
- Become familiar with the high level operational and maintenance tasks on the program.
- Learn about the different types of IT technology (ex. VMware, Cisco, Red Hat, Microsoft).
- Learn about Peraton and project culture.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- HS Diploma and some advanced level training.
- US Citizenship.
- Have completed progress toward a bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, computer science, computer engineering, information systems, or a related field.
- Foundational education in cybersecurity technologies and processes.
- Hands on experience with cybersecurity tools through coursework and/or prior internships.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to quickly adapt and learn new technologies and concepts.
- Self-motivated, independent, detail oriented, responsible team-player.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active security clearance.
- Hands-on experience with cyber tools: Wireshark, Metasploit, Kali Linux, etc.
