Work location: Karratha (Residential)

Roster: 4 days on / 3 days off

Are you ready for a unique opportunity to have a significant impact on the lives of First Nations People.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Karratha VTEC Training Team. The successful candidate will lead, manage, and work with various stake holders to ensure compliance and ongoing program sustainability and continued success.

Reporting to the Manager of First Nations VTEC Pathways, the VTEC Superintendent is responsible for maintaining and delivering quality training and employment programs. The Superintendent will apply their excellent interpersonal skills to proactively work with the VTEC team and participants of the program, leaders, First Nations employees and other external stakeholders.

This role requires a strong commitment to cultural sensitivity, community engagement, effective leadership to ensure the ongoing success and sustainability of Fortescue's First Nations VTEC training participation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Training Program Oversight -Development, implementation, and evaluation of the VTEC program
  • Leadership and Team Management - Lead a team fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment. Provide guidance and support to ensure the teams effectiveness in delivering quality training programs.
  • Program Development - Collaborate with the VTEC team and broader Fortescue teams to review, develop and update VTEC training materials.
  • Strategic Planning - Contribute to ongoing development and improvements to VTEC Training programs. Offer and contribute to strategy and implementation of initiatives.
  • Stake Holder Collaboration internal and external stakeholders - Proactively collaborate with site leaders and develop positive relationships with government and non-government agencies and organisations. Promote positive engagement between internal stakeholders, VTEC team and Traditional Custodian community and leader`s
  • Reporting, Documentation & Evaluation - Provide and maintain regular trainee participation reports, report program outcomes, challenges, and future plans. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to training activities, participant progress, and community engagement.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Demonstrated commitment to safety.
  • WA Class C Driver's licence
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment with confidentiality and respect
  • Computer literate, including Microsoft Office suite.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability and ability to work autonomously.
  • Strong understanding of Fortescue Values and Culture.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of First Nation issues and barriers that effect persons seeking and maintaining employment.
  • Effective organisation, planning and time management
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities
  • Effective communication skills with demonstrated ability to engage and influence various stakeholders.
