About the Role
As a Superintendent Applications Engineering in the Non Process Infrastructure (NPI) and Facilities Domain, you will be leading the Technology team in Resource Engineering and Geoscience application domain, the engagement of its customer groups, development of the domain strategy to drive customer/business improvement
Core Accountabilities:

  • Accountable as Technology Application Portfolio Owner, Application Owner and Service Owner of applications in the NPI & Facilities - RE & Geoscience Domain
  • Leading in team core routines including Performance review, Continuous Improvement, safety activities and problem solving
  • Standardise and optimise operational practices to support new and existing products within the domain
  • Seek to drive down operational costs through consolidation, simplification and operational excellence
  • Influence strategies to drive operational excellence and standards across delivery and operational teams aligned with WAIO NPI and Facilities team ways of working.
  • Planning, and managing the lifecycle of existing & new domain products and Asset Management plan for Critical services
  • Enhancing the user experience by improving usability, accessibility and desirability of solutions.
  • Identify, engage and manage a range of diverse domain internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage vendor selection, contracts, and performance to maximise operational and financial outcomes and mitigate BHP's exposure to risk
  • Conduct presentations and facilitate workshops using storytelling to connect, influence and engage the audience.
  • Provide input into Life of Asset and upstream processes that identify and prioritise initiatives for the future linked to overarching strategy and roadmaps.
About You
  • Tertiary qualification in Technology, Engineering, Computer Science or similar discipline
  • Strong experience with Application engineering, asset management and application lifecycle management, including COTS and bespoke application
  • Deep understanding of Service Management Practices
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a software development team and technical specialist
  • Proficient in strategic thinking including goal setting and roadmap development.
  • Business Acumen - appreciation of strategic drivers and levers that technology can unlock
  • Solid understanding of Application support principles, design patterns, Problem Solving Techniques and Escalation methodology
  • Proven recent and intermediate experience (design, support or architecture) in Geoscience, Resource Engineering, NPI, Asset Engineering or related Apps
Exposure and proficiency in the following is highly desirable:
  • SNOW
  • JIRA
  • CI/CD experience
Location
You will be based in Perth, Western Australia, in the multi-award-winning office tower - 'City Square'. You will have stunning river views from your modern open plan office, state of the art facilities including virtual whiteboards and video conferencing facilities, 550 bicycle racks with ample lockers, showers and change room amenities and a large outdoor terrace with barbecues. Some infrequent travel to our operational sites in Pilbara Western Australia is possible.
