Dugald River is one of the world’s top 10 zinc operations, located near Cloncurry in Queensland. Dugald River was successfully commissioned ahead of schedule and under budget, with first production of zinc concentrate in October 2017.Dugald River is estimated to have a mine life of 20+ years processing an average of 1.7 million tonnes of ore per annum. The operation predominantly produces zinc concentrate, with by-products including lead and silver.
The role:
Processing Superintendent
Reporting to the Manager Surface Operations & Support, you will be responsible for managing the safe operation of the Concentrator at Dugald River to deliver the annual production budget. This includes management of key areas such as the ROM, paste plant, and TSF, as well as management of the operational budget and oversight of relevant capital projects
To be successful in this role, you will have extensive processing experience in the mining industry, preferably in base metals flotation and across different plants. Your experience leading large teams across multiple areas, managing budgets and capital projects will be critical to the role. Paste plant experience will be advantageous. To further your success to the role, you will be a strong communicator, having strong people management, coaching and mentoring skills. Important to the role, is your ability to promote a "safety first" culture and a positive and collaborative culture within the team. Tertiary education particularly in the field of Metallurgy will be advantageous.
This role is available on an 8/6, 4/3 roster (day shift only). MMG is supportive of our local communities and region. The role is available on a drive-in drive out basis (DIDO) from the Cloncurry or Mount Isa Districts or FIFO from Townsville or Brisbane. Kalkadoon applicants are encouraged to apply.
