Healius Pathology is part of Healius' Pathology division, one of Australia's leading providers of private medical laboratory and pathology services. We operate about 100 medical laboratories and 2,000 patient collection centres across metropolitan, regional and remote Australia. Each year, we provide one in every three pathology services in Australia, extending from exclusively servicing some of Australia's largest and most complex private and public hospitals to small and remote Australian Aboriginal communities.

About the role

We are seeking an individual who is highly motivated to become part of a passionate and engaged team. Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Preparation, analysis and testing of specimens and/or assays
  • Perform designated testing procedures as outlined in methods and procedures, ensuring adherence to NPAAC/NATA ISO15189 requirements.
  • Participation in internal and external quality assurance programs.
  • Participation in continuing education.
  • Liaise with internal and/ or external stakeholders (referring practitioners) regarding test results or referrals as necessary
  • Collaborate with clinical laboratory members to in develop, validate and implement genomic assays into a diagnostic setting, as per NPAAC/NATA ISO15189 requirements.

About you

To be considered for this position, you will need to have a great blend of skills, including:

  • A Bachelor of Science or an equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in a diagnostic laboratory is desirable.
  • A high level of attention to detail and commitment to safety, quality, and accountability.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work as part of a collaborative team and contribute to team performance.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance systems and scientific instrumentation and equipment
  • Awareness of Workplace Health and Safety processes and procedures
