Job description

About the Role

Based at Dalby, you will be responsible for leading the Ranger team to deliver effective and positive Animal Management and local law services that protects and enhances community standards in the WDRC area.

Reporting to the Environmental Health Coordinator, you will be:

  • Diligently and effectively leading Council's Rangers
  • Developing and maintaining a high performing team that is results orientated, customer experience focused,
  • Taking the lead for the recruitment and onboarding of new team members, and delivering effective performance reviews
  • Promoting a culture of continuous improvement and taking carriage of change and improvement programs. This includes leading projects that result in ways that allocated tasks and responsibilities can be carried out more effectively and efficiently
  • Developing, coordinating and overseeing education and work programs and projects in response to community concerns, regulatory requirements and Council's strategic direction;
  • Task management, including rostering, the assigning of tasks and customer requests and the review of work to ensure high standards
  • Undertaking of Ranger's field based duties

About you

The successful applicant will have:

  • previous supervisory skills, knowledge and experience, preferably in a Local Government or other regulatory authority;
  • a relevant Certificate IV or Diploma in an investigatory, animal management, legal, regulatory, or public health discipline or the ability to obtain; and
  • highly developed interpersonal skills to build capacity, consult, partner, collaborate, negotiate, persuade, resolve conflict, and interact effectively at all levels (internal and external).
