Job description

Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available. 

Duties
  • Conduct activities for the Hobart Supreme Court that includes:
  • The operation and monitoring of the in-court digital recording system where it relates to the transcribing services
  • Training of new transcription typist staff and associates
  • Provision of transcribing services to outside organisations, on a state-wide basis, when required and as directed by the Coordinator Transcribing Services, and including assisting with negotiating timeframes and costs
  • The production and delivery of completed transcripts through merging transcription segments
  • Undertaking quality assurance processes of transcription staff outputs.
  • Provide advice to stakeholders regarding Transcription Services and transcribing records of criminal and civil court procedures in Hobart.
  • Supervise the provision of Transcription Services within the Hobart Supreme Court, including the rostering, supervision, training and day to day administration of transcribing staff.
  • The incumbent can expect to be allocated duties, not specifically mentioned in this document, that are within the capacity, qualifications, and experience normally expected from persons occupying jobs at this classification level.

Desirable Requirements
  • Typing speed of 80 words per minute.
  • Experience in supervising staff in an office environment
