This pivotal role demands expert knowledge and experience in supporting students with diverse learning needs and backgrounds.The Support Teacher - Diverse Learners (Primary Years) is a key member of the Academic Equity Team at the College. Working within our brand-new primary precinct, the successful applicant will partner with our primary faculty to support students in years 5 and 6. They will prioritise strong community relationships, demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, and provide guidance and co-ordination around the provision and implementation of high-quality inclusive strategies and intervention programs which cater for our rich and diverse learning community.The purpose of the Support Teacher - Diverse Learners (Primary Years) is to act as a champion for an inclusive and supportive learning environment which is responsive to the holistic growth and development of every student.This is a full-time, fixed-term position for Semester 2 2024 with the potential to be full time continuing in 2025.Selection Criteria:The applicant will have:
- Expertise in identifying and supporting students with learning differences and learning support needs.
- Experience implementing literacy and numeracy intervention programmes to support educational outcomes for boys.
- Professional knowledge and skills around the application of assistive technologies to support Diverse Learners.
- Knowledge and understanding of the NCCD Framework and processes.
- Registration to teach in Queensland.
- Graduate or Post-Graduate qualifications in Special Education may be an advantage.
- Willingness to contribute to the College's extensive co-curricular program; and
- Commitment to the Catholic and Marist ethos of the College.
