We are currently looking for a Supported Living Facilitator to join our Team on a Part-time basis within Townsville.
As a Supported Living Facilitator (Disability Support Worker), you will be balancing your commitment to actively work in partnership with individuals and their families while helping the people we support, in their own homes or within group care.
This will include, but not limited to, activities such as overnight stays, getting out for a coffee or catch-up with friends, participating in a hobby or sporting activity, going on day trips or holidays, visiting medical appointments and any other support that may contribute to helping them achieve their goals while staying healthy, happy and safe.
This hands-on role will also require you to ensure the health and safety of our clients and team members are at the forefront of everything we do.
What you'll need
This opportunity calls for an outstanding communicator with an ability to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders including community members and organisations. We’re looking for someone who is values driven and passionate about contributing to and developing a safe environment that supports and engages our clients and their families.
To addition, you will possess the following:
  • Able to work effectively with others in a team-oriented environment and provide excellent support to our clients and your co-workers
  • Able to accomplish multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
  • Model reliability and flexibility by being able to work varied hours and days to meet the needs of the client.
  • Able to effectively communicate in verbal and written English
  • Demonstrated experience within Disability, Aged and Community sector (always a bonus)
  • An understanding of the application of the principles of family or self-governance, personal autonomy, choice and control and intentional safeguarding
  • Demonstrated knowledge of NDIS Standards for auditing and safety purposes
  • A current Positive Notice from Disability Services, willingness to undergo a “Working with Children Check” and a Suitability Card (Blue Card) prior to commencing employment.
  • Driver’s License; and
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certificate
  • Completed the NDIS worker orientation module "Quality, Safety and you"
