NQM Gold 2 Pty Ltd is an Australian gold explorer, developer, and producer since 2009. Located southwest of Townsville, the Pajingo mine is around 50km from Charters Towers and employs approximately 250 people to run the underground mining, open cut, and ore processing operations. Charters Towers is close to Townsville and the beauty of the Great Barrier Reef, and it offers all the facilities you would expect in a large regional town.
We are seeking an experienced Surface Electrician to work on a 4/3 roster based at our Pajingo site.
The main duties of the role include but are not limited to:
- Fault-finding, diagnosis, repair and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation components of process equipment such as electric motors, variable speed drives, generators, motor starters, HV reticulation system, Valves, Pressure, Level, Flow transmitters, PLC control system
- Diagnose faults, inspect and test equipment in a fixed plant environment and determine repair action required.
- Routine inspections of fixed plant equipment and carry out preventative measures.
- Work closely with various members of the team to effectively conduct electrical work to minimize site disruptions and power losses to the Process Plant and site.
- Complete works in association with company procedures and work instructions for the Process Plant and site.
- Dual Trade Qualification - Electrical Mechanical & Instrumentation
- Current Queensland Electrical Licence.
- Strong communication skills.
- Current C Class Australian Drivers Licence.
- Current LVR/ CPR (Within 12 months).
- 5+ years proven mine site fixed plant electrical experience.
- Proven experience performing preventive maintenance, installations and breakdowns on process equipment including Crushers, Ball Mills, CIP process equipment and Laboratory Equipment would be an advantage.
- Sound knowledge of HV installations.
- Experience with variable speed drives, PLC’s, various process instrumentation, configuration and calibration, as well as fault finding and repair.
- Experience with SAP or similar EAM system.
