The Position
The purpose of this role is to operate the Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Line to build electronic circuit boards, perform kit checks and inspect circuit boards produced by the SMT Line against quality standards.  All necessary training on Machines will be provided on the Job.

This role is responsible for:

  • Operate the SMT Line to provide high quality circuit boards. 
  • Assist with Automated Optical Inspection operation. 
  • Be aware of and operate within CEA’s quality standards. 
  • Assist with Printed Circuit Assembly when required. 
  • Operate and maintain all SMT machines.
  • Contribute to process and system improvements. 
  • Perform other related duties as required 

Essential 

  • AGSVA clearance level: Baseline. 
  • Meticulous attention to detail, ability to maintain focus and sound hand/eye coordination skills.
  • Desire and ability to learn electronics and pick up new concepts.

Desirable Skills

  • Good knowledge of electronic component Identification and measuring techniques.
  • Experience or knowledge of DEK Stencil Printers, Yamaha pick and place machines, VP6000 reflow ovens, 
  • Experience or knowledge of SMS Line control.
  • An understanding of Electrostatic Discharge Control (ESD) and Moisture Sensitive Devices (MSD) practices.
  • Experience using programmable equipment/machinery
  • Electronics background

Eligibility 
To be eligible for this position, you must be:

  • An Australian Citizen; 
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an AGSVA clearance (Baseline)
