About Unravel Carbon

Unravel Carbon is an enterprise software for tracking and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, with a focus on helping companies decarbonise and develop strong climate change strategies. Our measurement platform specialises in Scope 3 emissions and with supply chains that extend into Asia-Pacific, with then supporting parts of the platform to provide data for climate related decision making and documenting climate risk disclosures. About the role

As our Sustainability Consultant/Senior Sustainability Consultant, you will be responsible primarily for customer delivery; calculating the carbon footprints of our customers, developing their emission reduction recommendation plans and determining their optimised decarbonisation pathways. You will be instrumental for customer success by accurately and efficiently providing our customers with evidence that they can act on - using the Unravel Carbon software as the key source of information. You will also provide input to the development of the Unravel  carbon footprinting software, carbon removal project verification and portfolio development, and general climate policy and approach. 

As one of the early hires, you will be in a great position to learn about the inner workings of Unravel and gain operational exposure. You will be dealing directly with customers from the start, learn quickly, and make a real difference in our climate emergency fight.

  • Calculate carbon footprints / accounts of companies
  • Develop net-zero roadmaps and emission reduction plans
  • Input into ongoing development of footprinting tools and processes
  • General research support
  • Support our customers on the topics of net-zero, ESG and TCFD
  • Work with Chief Sustainability Officer on carbon removal projects vetting and climate policy positioning
  • Take responsibility to independently serve our customers and support future climate associates

About you
  • You have working  knowledge of the GHG Protocol plus at least one of the following topics:
    • National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting scheme and Safeguard Mechanism 
    • Corporate climate disclosure and reporting (ESG, TCFD, CDP etc.)
    • Negative emission / carbon removal technologies
    • Carbon offsetting markets
  • You have excellent numerical skills and strong proficiency with Excel/spreadsheets, a methodical approach and can work independently
  • You care about data integrity and quality
  • You have a lot of curiosity, common sense and a broad understanding of carbon, climate and sustainability issues
  • You're excited by the opportunity of an early-stage startup and faster development than a typical sustainability consultancy would provide 
  • You can engage people from different background and with different agendas
  • Advantageous to be confident in communicating with customers and excel at organisation, in order to take more direct ownership of customer success including scheduling meetings and leading kick-off and debrief sessions

YOUR WORK STYLE

  • An understanding of agile product development
  • Analytical and detail-oriented, and fully capable of navigating and combining various datasets to pull out key insights
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, while being flexible to evolving responsibilities and last-minute changes

YOUR PREFERRED BACKGROUND

  • You have a bachelor and preferably a masters in sustainability, environmental engineering or climate science related field, or equivalent experience.
  • You have 3-10 years of work experience, ideally in Sustainability Consulting focusing on corporate carbon accounting and/or climate change advisory

Experience with climate risk analysis and transition risks will be very highly regarded
