What will your role be?
Sustainability is a key part of Diageo’s business strategy, and this role sits in market within the Australian business. The role is part of the Corporate Relations team and has responsibility for leading and co-ordinating the business’ ESG agenda. It works closely with the Supply, Marketing and Commercial functions as well as the executive leadership team and project manages several cross functional programs.
While the overall strategic direction of the Diageo’s ESG is set at a global level, there is a lot of autonomy within market. This role will work closely with the Corporate Relations Director and other senior leaders to determine Australia’s ESG strategy based on global targets. Decision making abilities are an important part of this role. Areas include:
- Strategy implementation
- Planning and organization
- Budget implementation
- Resolving ambiguity
The Head of Sustainability is responsible for:
- The delivery of alcohol moderation and education programs
- The impact of health trends and policy
- Alcohol advertising policy and relationship with ABAC
- The reconciliation action plan
- Stewardship of Diageo’s ESG agenda in Australia
- Managing ESG Committee, the quarterly meeting and ensuring we are on track to meet our targets
- Working closely with key functional leads to build Diageo’s Australia strategic sustainability agenda
- Lead and execute Diageo’s policy and programs on alcohol moderation and harmful drinking
- Lead policy approach to alcohol advertising codes and standards
- The Reconciliation Action Plan and oversighting the employee working group.
What will you bring to the table?
- A well established and successful career within Corporate Relations with exposure to Environmental, Social Governance and stakeholder reporting, communication and engagement
- Highly developed and well-rounded stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
- Strong project management experience
- Knowledge of best practice corporate social responsibility and sustainability strategies.
