Job description

The Australian Sports Commission is embarking on the Green and Gold decade. An exciting time filled with international sporting competitions on home soil, including the Men’s and Women’s Rugby World Cup, and culminating in the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. We have an ambitious new Strategic Vision and we need the best players on our team to help us deliver real results for the sporting sector and all Australians.

Are you up for the challenge?

The multi-award winning learn-to-swim program at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) is considered one of the best in the country, with programs specially designed for beginner, intermediate and advanced level swimmers.

Our programs include:

  • learn-to-swim classes from infants to adults;
  • school swimming programs;
  • holiday intensive swimming programs;
  • non-competitive squad training; and
  • specialised workshops.

We are seeking enthusiastic, reliable, and committed individuals to join our Swim School team for our Term Swimming program and Schools program.

You need to have availability at least two days a week from 3:15pm – 6:30pm Monday – Friday and/or 9:15am – 12:30pm Saturday – Sunday.

Successful applicants must have or be willing to obtain an industry swim teaching qualification through Royal Life Saving, AUSTSWIM or Swim Australia and have a current CPR qualification and Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) card.

Eligibility

  • To be eligible for employment with the Australian Sports Commission, it is preferred that applicants are Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia.

As part of the Commonwealth Child Safety Framework the ASC is committed to being a Child Safe Organisation and leading the way in Child Safety across the sports sector. This position requires a Working with Vulnerable/Children People check to obtain employment.
