Who are we looking for?
With an expanding portfolio of projects, our Transport Team has an immediate need for an experienced Senior Transportation Systems Assurance Engineer to join our South Queensland Rail. The successful candidate will support the Rail Systems Team Lead and Rail Business Group Leader in maintaining and developing the GHD Systems Engineering capability as well as be responsible for providing Systems Assurance functions on current and future GHD engineering projects.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Promote the adoption of Systems Engineering Principles in project initiation
- Manage System Assurance activities on multidisciplinary transport engineering projects (Rail/Road etc).
- Provide advice and guidance to transportation projects through all lifecycle phase from concept development and planning through detailed design and construction phase support.
- Contribute to the Safety justification of transportation project through activities such as Multi Criteria assessments as part of the cost benefit analysis for transport systems.
- Provide advice and guidance to GHD project teams on how to implement a Systems Engineering approach for its transportation projects.
- Promoting the adoption of Systems Engineering tools and techniques.
- Managing System Safety engineering and assurance activities for GHD transport projects.
- Leading design teams through the Safety Hazard Analysis and management process.
- Facilitating Qualitative and Quantitative Safety Risk Assessments.
- Managing the elicitation/definition and management of transportation system requirements. Including Business Requirements (needs), Systems Requirements (solution) and subsystem requirements (detailed solution).
- Mentoring less experienced engineers/graduates/interns.
What would you bring to the team?
- Degree Qualification in Engineering or other relevant discipline.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience.
- Knowledge of the System Engineering and Safety Lifecycles.
- Knowledge of requirements development and verification.
- Ability to apply safety analysis techniques such as HAZOP, FTA. ETA and develop of Safety Cases.
- Awareness of RAM and Human Factors.
- Knowledge of appropriate national and international standards such as:
- EN 50126/8/9
- IEC 61508
- AS 4292
- AS/NZS 45001
- ISO/IEC 15288
