Systems Audit Specialist
Permanent
Location: to be agreed
Salary range: $113,626 – $132,972 depending on skills and experience
Kōrero mō te Tūranga - About the Role
As a Systems Audit Specialist you will be travelling regularly within New Zealand.
You will carry out audits that underpin New Zealand's $50 billion food and primary industries export trade. You will visit businesses across New Zealand to confirm that they are complying with New Zealand's, and where relevant, overseas country requirements. Your findings will help to improve our systems and ensure that they are fit for purpose.
You will help host visits from overseas auditors who come to New Zealand to check that their country requirements are being met – with an aim to open up or continue market access for our products.
You will carry out special audits as required to provide information to the audit initiators.
You will provide technical expertise to Accreditation Agencies such as IANZ and JASANZ during their assessments of people and agencies wanting to achieve or maintain recognition to work within our system.
You will audit the recognised agencies and persons to make sure that they are carrying out their specified functions and activities as intended.
You will normally carry out audits in a sector that you are familiar with, however we encourage auditors to increase the scope of the sectors that they can work with over time by supporting other audits.
In between audits you will be doing the administrative part of the role, planning future audits, reporting, training and as time permits other MPI work relevant to your field of expertise.
Mōu - About You
We are currently looking for a veterinarian as a position has just become available in the team. Preference will be given to those who are prepared to develop their scope to include the poultry or seafood sectors.
Alongside this you will need significant experience in auditing or verification or have an in depth understanding of a sector and the requirements that sector operates under. We want people who are looking to move on to the next stage in their career.
To be successful you will be:
* You will be an expert in your field or have the potential to be an expert with the right support and training.
* You will be a strong and clear communicator, both orally and in writing.
* You will be able to hold the regulatory line, while maintaining effective relationships.
* You will be able to represent New Zealand effectively and professionally with overseas auditors.
