The Role

As the System Engineer you will be responsible for performing end to end Systems Engineering lifecycle activities across all development activities for simulation systems and services.

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary Directed Workforce, your primary focus will be developing engineering deliverables in required Data Item Descriptions (DID) and to Joint Command Training Branch (JCTB) requirements, engineering standards and practices and applicable regulatory frameworks. Coordinating Systems Engineering expertise across the whole engineering lifecycle to foster, implement and flow down JCTB requirements

To be successful in this role it is essential that you have:

  • Significant experience in multi-discipline engineering development programs,  using applicable Systems Engineering Management processes in the Information and Communications, ICT design, ICT capacity management and Simulation Test Domains.
  • Experience in development of methodologies on complex systems applying documented engineering principles and processes..
  • Significant experience within a Defence engineering and regulatory framework
  • Extensive experience working with a broad set of internal and external stakeholders and partnering organisations to achieve common goals.
  • Tertiary qualification in Systems Engineering or relevant discipline from a recognised institution

Responsibilities include :

  • Developing engineering deliverables in required Data Item Descriptions (DIDs) and to JCTB requirements, engineering standards and practices and applicable regulatory frameworks
  • Co-ordinate Systems Engineering expertise across the whole engineering lifecycle to foster, implement and flow down JCTB requirements, engineering standards, practices and applicable regulatory frameworks to the Directed Workforce multi-disciplinary teams responsible for delivering simulation systems and services.
  • Establish JCTB established Systems Engineering standards, practices, processes and applicable regulatory frameworks on assigned engineering activities and deliverables
  • Guide and participate as assigned in Defence technical meetings and workshops providing Systems Engineering lifecycle advice and recommendations.
  • Co-ordinate Systems Engineering assignments requiring participation in engineering process improvement reviews including implementing assigned actions to Systems Engineering practices, processes and procedures. This includes alignment to JCTB IT Service Management (ITSM) policies, practices and processes.

Special requirements:

Applicants are required to be Australian Citizens and be eligible to obtain a CoA NV1  Security Clearance.
