About the role:
This role involves planning, delivering, and assessing students and trainees undertaking Animal Science qualifications (Certificate II & Certificate III in Animal Care and Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing). The Teacher Animal Sciences is responsible for working closely with employers, trainees and students in the classroom and workplaces. You will have an in depth understanding of the ACM (Animal Care and Management) training package.
The role of the Teacher Animal Sciences covers a variety of responsibilities and activities within the sector, including:
- classroom based teaching;
- teaching via video conferencing;
- practical skills training in simulated workplace environments;
- engaging with students and their employers in the workplace;
- supporting students and employers with their workforce and career development needs;
- showcasing careers andassociated education pathways to community, schools, and industry.
Mandatory requirements:
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40122 or equivalent (if not held on commencement, qualification must be completed within agreed timeframe)
- Minimum Certificate III in Animal Studies or Companion Animal Services or any animal husbandry related studies
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working in the animal care industry working with cats/dogs and/or native animals
- Current Victorian Working with Children Clearance
- Current Police check (no older than 12 months)
- Current COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate
- Current Driver’s Licence
If you currently don’t have the minimum required teaching qualifications, yet you have extensive industry experience and associated qualifications, TAFE Gippsland will consider your application, but you must meet all other criteria shown in the Job Description.
