As an Early Childhood Education Teacher, you should have the capacity to work independently and innovatively to provide a learning environment that is caring, engaging, and differentiated to cater for a range of learning needs. The successful applicant should be focused on high quality education guided by research and current practice. The Early Years Learning Framework, National Quality Standards and Western Australian Curriculum should inform your teaching practice to provide a comprehensive educational program.
We seek a motivated teacher who values working as a team, supporting whole school practice, has a willingness to engage in collaborative planning and understands the power of assessment for differentiated learning and teaching. An ongoing cycle of observation and assessment, including critical reflection that drives planning is an important attribute. The applicant should have the ability to monitor the impact their teaching has on student learning effectively and continually and be willing to try new and innovative ways to engage students.
Applicants who possess Early Childhood Education (ECE) qualifications and holding a deep understanding of child development to extend each child’s learning will be highly regarded. In addition, it is highly desirable that the applicant values and supports each child’s health and wellbeing whilst catering for the needs of the group. An understanding of the Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework is also highly regarded.
Padbury PS is a family friendly school of approximately 146 students. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
- Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment.
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement.
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter.
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement.
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
