AddressJamison High School is a proud, comprehensive, co-educational 7-12 High School located at the foot of the Blue Mountains in Western Sydney. The current enrolment is 892 students. 10% of the school population identifies as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, and 15% of students are from a non-English speaking background.
Technology in the curriculum is a strong focus at the school and is well supported by the Bring Your Own Device program. To support this, the school has integrated Google Education into all learning activities. STEM initiatives are a feature of how the school collaborates across faculty areas and develops cross curricula programs to engage and challenge students in their learning.
The school is a PBL school with four core values: safe, respectful, aspirational, learners. These values operate across all activities and programs at the school and are the basis for students' behaviour expectations and learning goals.
Selection CriteriaApproval to teach Geography 7 -10, Business Studies. Approval and/or willingness to teach Legal Studies.
Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build relationships and connections between staff, students and the wider school community to enhance student engagement.
Ability to work collegially as part of the HSIE faculty to develop quality teaching programs and assessment that cater for all students.
Ability to integrate technology into effective teaching and learning to drive student engagement and performance.
ConditionsAn unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
