About the role:
The role of the Teacher ICT - Telecommunications & Networking (Defence) is to provide high quality teaching delivery, along with innovative content and educational continuous improvement initiatives to Defence Force School of Signals (DFSS) students. Expectations include:
- Support student success in Telecommunications & Networking courses and thereby improve their employment and/or educational pathways.
- Ensure BHI compliance requirements are met.
- Assimilate to the specific educational environment – standards, conduct and expectations (Defence)
- Deliver scheduled teaching requirements
The Teacher ICT - Telecommunications & Networking forms part of a high-functioning team on-site at Simpson Barracks delivering training solutions to our client (Defence). The position reports to the Education & Training Support Manager and is responsible for liaising with students, Defence personnel, relevant industry groups, community services providers, overseas partners and employees of BHI at all levels.
Applicants must be an Australian Citizen and currently hold or be able to obtain a NV1 Level Defence Security Clearance.

If you have knowledge and experience in any of the following areas, we want to hear from you!
- The ability to deliver units of competency from the following qualifications:
- ICT30519 - Certificate III in Telecommunications Technology
- ICT41219 - Certificate IV in Telecommunications Engineering Technology
- ICT50220 - Diploma of Information Technology
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience at a senior level in various telecommunications disciplines
Desirable
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110) with upgrade to TAE40116 or a qualification at diploma level or higher in Adult Education.
- Relevant industry qualifications and an AQF 5 or higher vocational qualification.
