Greystanes High School is a comprehensive high school that strives to support excellence in all areas of student endeavour, through a commitment to quality teaching and targeted welfare programs. Position Information
A position is available in the Learning Support Faculty for a specialist Numeracy Teacher. This position involves teaching Numeracy and Mathematics in Years 7 to 10 and would be suitable for a primary school teacher or a high school teacher with skills in delivering numeracy programs. The teacher will assist with programming and assessment of numeracy courses and the monitoring of student achievement in these areas.
Specific Selection Criteria
Approval to teach Primary Mathematics and approval and/or willingness to teach Numeracy and Mathematics to Year 7 to 10 students
Demonstrated capacity to develop and deliver effective, engaging and differentiated programs to improve numeracy outcomes for students with a range of learning needs
Capacity to develop and use assessments to measure student learning and identify effective interventions and modifications in teaching practice
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with teachers across all KLAs to support student learning in numeracy
Highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills and an ability to contribute to faculty and whole school activities
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
