Seven Hills High School is situated on traditional Darug land in Greater Western Sydney with an enrolment of 451 students, including 7% Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students. Whilst primarily surrounded by multicultural residential suburbs, the community is linked to the rapidly growing industry and infrastructure of the Greater Western Sydney region with burgeoning housing and industrial developments.
Seven Hills High School is a member of the Nirimba Collegiate which includes Quakers Hill High School, Riverstone High School and Wyndham College. In 2021, the school transitioned from a Year 7-10 High School to a comprehensive High School, with the addition of Year 11. Year 12 classes commenced in 2022. As a member of the Nirimba Collegiate, Seven Hills High School offers cross campus senior curriculum and learning opportunities for students in both years. The school has two support classes for students with mild intellectual disabilities and one support class for students with Autism.
In 2023, Seven Hills High School is one of two schools in NSW delivering the Vocational Schools Pilot program. Seven Hills High School has specialist vocational educational facilities and classes in the areas of Community and Health Services, Construction (Electrotechnology and Plumbing) and Transport and Logistics. The three key industry focus areas will be delivered through a combination of school implemented courses and partnerships with TAFE NSW, industry associations and private training providers. In addition to these core areas, students may have the opportunity to incorporate relevant complementary Vocational Education Training (VET) courses, in areas such as business, financial and retail services, into their studies.
The school is committed to increasing student engagement, achievement and attainment by improving effective classroom practice. With a focus on improving the Literacy and Numeracy outcomes for our students, we aim to develop staff through the delivery of targeted professional learning, focusing on using data to inform practice. By collaborating with their peers effectively and by embedding data-driven pedagogy into teaching and learning programs, we aim to enhance the opportunity for student success.
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
1. Proven exemplary teaching and/or practice and ability to lead a diverse faculty team in continual improvement that fosters student engagement and promotes positive learning experiences, across the Mathematics curriculum.
2. Proven ability to lead the development and implementation of curriculum reform including innovative, high-quality teaching and learning programs, practices and assessment which meet the diverse learning and wellbeing needs of all students.
3. Proven expertise in visible and proactive school leadership working in successful collaboration with the school’s executive team to lead, implement and support whole school priorities and initiatives in the school’s Strategic Improvement Plan.
4. Capacity to build positive relationships and engagement across the school community, leading and maintaining a positive school culture as a visible member of the executive team.

2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
