About the role - St Michael’s College is seeking a suitably qualified, dynamic educator to fill the position of Responsible Thinking Classroom (RTC) Coordinator.
The purpose of the Responsible Thinking Classroom (RTC) Coordinator is to provide supervision and support for students attending the Responsible Thinking Classroom. The RTC Coordinator maintains and promotes positive relationships with both students and staff. The role also includes a range of administrative and supervisory activities including monitoring, data management, communication with students, school staff and parents, ensuring sensitive, respectful and discreet support and supervision of students.
Key Result Areas
The role holder’s performance is measured against organisational, team and individual key performance indicators (KPIs). In addition, the role’s success is measured by the following key result areas:
- General supervision of students in the Responsible Thinking Classroom (RTC)
- Registration and assignment of resources to students upon entry to the RTC
- Data entry and use of online systems to record incidents and student information
- Communicate sensitively and professionally at all times with students, parents and school staff
- Maintain the classroom environment and resource supplies
- Maintain and promote positive relationships with students and staff
About you - To be successful in this role you will bring relevant qualifications and contemporary teaching experience, as well as:
- Strong literacy, numeracy and digital literacy practices plus a clear understanding of the Australian Curriculum
- Commitment to child safety
- Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven organisational skills
- Commitment to engage with colleagues, students, and parents/carers to achieve the best outcomes
- Demonstrated competence against the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers across professional knowledge, practice and engagement.

If this role does not require you to teach Religious Education, you do not need to be Catholic.
Yes, for primary and Religious Education teachers. Regarding a pathway to become Catholic, some employees opt to undertake the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults). We support all teachers with Accreditation to Teach pathways after you start with us.
