Nowra High School is located on the South Coast in the Shoalhaven Region. We have 855 students with a 17.5% Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander student enrolment, supported by more than a 100 teachers and support staff who work collaboratively with our Parents and Carers and the Nowra Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (AECG) to provide the best possible educational outcomes for all students.

Students needs are further supported through 7 Support Classes. The successful applicant will join a dynamic Special Education Team, of 7 classes, focused on building equitable and inclusive learning opportunities across our school for students with a support class placement.
1. Approval to teach Special/Inclusive Education and/or experience with teaching students with disability, including Autism (Secondary) and Emotional Disturbance (Secondary).
2. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively, proactively and reflectively with students, parents, colleagues and key stakeholders to create positive learning outcomes for students through a trauma informed lens.
3. Capacity to assess and identify student needs to differentiate teaching to ensure curriculum inclusion and maintain safe, inclusive and positive learning environments for all students.
4. Demonstrated ability to understand and meet the needs of students from diverse backgrounds including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and students from low socio-economic backgrounds.
