Job description

Position Information

Whalan Public School is a thriving school in Western Sydney. The school has a population of over 400 students including a two-class preschool and four support classes. The school has 30% Aboriginal students and 35% EAL/D students and celebrates its diversity. It boasts large well-maintained grounds and newly refurbished classrooms where future focussed learning takes place. The staff are highly collaborative and conscientious and deliver quality teaching programs in literacy and numeracy. The school embeds Positive Behaviour for Learning and has high expectations for learning and engagement.

Selection Criteria

Approval to teach infants and primary with a demonstrated ability to deliver innovative, evidence-based literacy and numeracy programs.

Ability to differentiate literacy and numeracy programs to meet the needs of all students.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students, parents and staff using well developed interpersonal and communication skills.

Capacity to embed technology into teaching and learning within a future-focused classroom (ICT).

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
