Fighting Chance / Avenue are on the lookout for a motivated Team Coordinator to coordinate the operations of their business team in our Parramatta HUB. The role is central to the successful operations of the Avenue Hub.

ABOUT FIGHTING CHANCE & AVENUE:

Fighting Chance designs, builds and scales social enterprises which move the dial for Australians with disability and their family. We work to identify the challenges, hurdles and barriers faced by people with disability in their everyday lives and then design and build sustainable social enterprise businesses to bridge these gaps. Avenue is one of these enterprises.

Avenue is not your average day program. We are a series of Co-Working Spaces for people of all abilities, regardless of their support needs; working to a vision for a world in which work is accessible for all. Our mission is to build a network of co-working spaces, bringing world-class work, social and learning opportunities to people of all abilities. Each Co-Working Space offers people with disability the opportunity to:

  • Work: Avenue forms and facilitates micro-enterprises to enable participants to utilise their skills and contribute to the economy
  • Learn: Avenue offers participants a range of learning and skill development opportunities, across a range of content areas including work skills, social skills and personal development

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Team Coordinator Role is central to the successful operations of an Avenue Co-Working Space and is at the heart of the model, leading a team of support workers to ensure Avenue participants are supported to develop their skills and achieve their goals through a range of engagement activities.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Coordinate the work needs of the micro-enterprise on a daily basis ensuring that work is tailored to participants in the way that best suits their learning and working style, interests and the micro-enterprise needs.
  • Support and guide team of Support Workers
  • Role model best practice support approaches for staff at all times
  • Manage staff performance - provide timely and effective feedback, identify staff training needs
  • Record Keeping and Reporting
  • NDIS Management

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • A relevant qualification and/or previous experience in in the community services sector
  • Experience in people management is desirable
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholder;
  • Highly developed administrative and organisational skills
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of customer care in a disability service.
  • Alignment with the Values of Fighting Chance is essential.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal skills
  • Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills
  • Have the right to work in Australia
  • Possess or be willing to obtain a current NDIS Worker Screening Check/Working with Children Check
  • Possess or be willing to obtain Provide First Aid (HLTAID003)
