About the opportunity

The Enterprise Aviation Processing (EAP) system is a business critical system used to manage permissions, certificates, licences and surveillance for CASA and industry.

The Information Technology Branch (ITB) within CASA is responsible for providing project and operational support for the system. The Team Leader EAP is responsible for managing the day to day operations of the EAP operations team including system performance, availability, and end user support.

The role is responsible for the following:

  1. Developing and managing the EAP operational support work program to ensure it contributes to achieving the strategic and operational priorities for ITB and CASA.
  2. Working with operational and project teams to ensure EAP meets business requirements. This includes identifying and documenting requirements, developing and documenting application configurations.
  3. Coordinating service and change requests, testing and training of new/enhanced functionality, and providing assistance and advice to EAP users.
  4. Maintaining CASA manuals, training materials and workflows to retain currency with regulatory changes and as each new release of EAP is implemented.
  5. Building the team, systems, processes, and stakeholder focused culture that ensures that they have a consistent and positive experience.
  6. Proactively work with internal and external stakeholders and ensure their needs/requirements are clearly understood, and expectations are effectively managed.
  7. Taking responsibility for stakeholder escalations, managing risk and issues regarding new initiatives and provide updates through regular meetings with business areas.
  8. Researching and preparing written briefs, reports and other documentation for internal and external audiences.
  9. Leading, coaching and developing the capability of the team including seeking opportunities for continuous improvement.
  10. Modelling and promoting workplace safety, equity and diversity, participative management and environmental management in the workplace and act in accordance with CASA’s Values and Behaviours.

Our ideal candidate

Our ideal candidate must demonstrate the following:

•        Strong technical background that can support a team to resolve complex issues quickly and effectively, within defined timeframes.

•        Demonstrated experience in supporting enterprise business applications and tailoring COTS solutions to meet business requirements.

•        Exceptional stakeholder engagements skills including the ability to liaise with business and technical staff at all levels and engage effectively with vendors.

•        Demonstrated ability to manage and enhance the operational efficiency of the ICT environment in a complex environment meeting expectation of both internal and external stakeholders.

•        Demonstrated ability to communicate with influence (both verbally and in writing) with the capacity to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical people.

•        Excellent communication (written and oral) skills with the ability to manage relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders, which are built on credibility and trust.

•        Relevant tertiary or formal qualifications would be highly regarded.

•        Ability to engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees in a sensitive, respectful and equitable manner.)

•        Promotion of workplace safety, equity and diversity, and act in accordance with the CASA Values and Behaviours.

Eligibility requirements

Employment with CASA is subject to conditions prescribed within the Civil Aviation Act 1988. The following eligibility requirements apply to this position: 

·      At minimum, prospective CASA employees must undergo pre-employment screening. You must be willing to provide required information to successfully undergo a police record check.

·      Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.

·      Currently holds a Commonwealth security clearance to Baseline or have the ability to obtain and hold a clearance at this level.
