Job description

In this exciting career opportunity, you will be responsible for the day to day oversight and management of a team of Claims professionals across a range of portfolios.  The primary requirement will be to support and develop the team to ensure a high standard of work and the delivery of exceptional customer service to our clients and their customers.

What are my accountabilities? 

  • Provide leadership, direction and communication to team members
  • Regular monitoring and reporting on daily workflow, SLAs and KPIs 
  • Recruitment and training of new staff and identifying/implementing individual professional development opportunities
  • Preparing and presenting management information and customer reports
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement strategies within the business and overseeing projects to drive efficiency and effectiveness
  • Set colleagues up for success by delivering coaching and mentoring, informal feedback and address underperformance
  • Conduct regular formal performance appraisals and collaborate with colleagues to prepare professional development plans

About you:

  • Experience in people management, leadership and team engagement
  • Sound knowledge of the insurance industry (claims lifecycle) including the legislative framework, applicable codes and products.
  • An understanding of the principle and procedures for processing insurance claims
  • Knowledge of claims regulations, legislations and compliance requirements
  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Thrive in a team environment and motivated by success
  • Naturally compassionate and solution focused
