 About You 

The successful candidate will need to be a leader skilled in IT systems and managing a multi-project program of works with a passion for customer service and continuous improvement. The City of PAE is seeking an innovative thinker, who can develop and foster good relationships and be adaptable to new ideas and concepts. Attention to detail and a curious and analytical mind are a must.

You will demonstrate the ability to be agile and adaptable, show flexibility and be able to prioritise, accept challenges and show resilience. You will be expected to display high level communication skills, the ability to resolve conflict, strong leadership skills and show confidence and technical competence in decision making.

Skills and Knowledge 

Intermediate to Advanced level knowledge of:

  • Corporate IT solutions that are typically used in a diverse multi-vendor, multisite environment. 
  • Project management principles and frameworks.
  • Leading a high performance team.
  • Data integration and data conversion principles and framework.
  • Computer operating systems, applications, and hardware devices.
  • Physical and virtual operating environments.
  • ITIL principles and guidelines.

 Qualifications

  • Relevant degree with relevant experience or less formal qualifications with specialised skills sufficient to perform at this level.

 Experience

  • Demonstrated background and experience working in a relevant IT role within a medium to large complex and diverse organisation.
  • Engages a diverse workforce to drive innovation in digital transformation, continuous improvement and service excellence.
  • Provides direction and leadership to the IT Section through all aspects of managing IT programs and projects for council.
  • Leads the IT Projects Team to develop and implement Council’s core ongoing IT Project program deliverables.
  • Implements an overarching project management framework for Council’s IT Project Program
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing innovative IT solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience using project management frameworks
  • Experience in ITIL guidelines, such as Incident, Problem and Change management, etc.
  • Experience with technical problem-solving, knowledge sharing and report creation.
  • Leadership experience in a team environment.
  • Experience in working in Local Government will be highly regarded.
