Home Carers Alliance provides a range of in-home and community-based support services for people with a disability who are participants of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). The services we provide include Specialized Disability Accommodation (SDA), Supported Independent Living (SIL), Community Access, and Transportation. About the Roles:

In the role of Team Leader, you will take on responsibility of the daily supports provided, overseeing rostering, customer information and documentation and providing support and direction to the support staff. This role is a hybrid role which allows Team Leaders the opportunity to provide front line support within the service they lead. 

As Disability Support Worker, you will assist participants in a supported living environment according to their individual needs and life goals to help them to live a fulfilling and meaningful life in the community. Your day-to-day tasks will revolve around providing support with daily living, including personal care, domestic duties, various skill development activities, medication administration, and social and community participation.

We're looking for people with excellent people skills, whilst previous industry experience is favorable it is not necessary. to be successful in this role you will need to have a genuine desire to improve the quality of life of our participants by allowing them to have choice and control over their lives.

Support Worker Experience: The below experience is desired but not a requirement.

Mobility

  •  Attendant propelling wheelchair
  •  Positioning in Wheelchair
  •  All transfers (Including manual handling, pivoting disks, and standing hoists)

Selfcare Tasks

  • Showering
  • Personal care e.g grooming
  • Dressing/Undressing
  • Toileting – Incontinence management
  • Medication management
  • Eating/Drinking

Domestic Tasks

  • Cooking/Meal Preparation
  • Laundry
  • Cleaning tasks (Including both light and heavy cleaning tasks)

Instrumental Tasks:

  • Community access
  • Shopping
  • Managing appointments
  • Supporting Participants to build meaningful relationships 

Emotional/Behavioral:

  • Managing fluctuating emotions and corresponding outbursts

Technology:

  • Ability to use smartphone apps 
  • Ability to use Microsoft office e.g Excel, Word & Outlook 

Team Leader Experience:

  • Managing and developing support rosters 
  • Report writing and development of participant documentation
  • Addressing frontline staff and providing direction and guidance
  • Use of Microsoft office and smart devices

You must have (or be willing to obtain) the following:

  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends, with the potential for working active nights
  • Certificate III in Disability or an equivalent qualification completed or in progress or willingness to obtain.
  • Current CPR Certificate or willingness to obtain.
  • Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain
  • National Police Check
  • Valid Yellow Card / NDIS Worker Screening or willingness to obtain
  • Valid Australian Driver License
  • Working with Children Blue Card or willingness to obtain
