Team Member — Town Treatment Plant Operator (Khancoban)
An exciting opportunity exists to join our Town Services team in Khancoban as the Team Member — Town Treatment Plant Operator (Khancoban)
Primary Purpose
Contribute to the operational needs of the council by operating the sewer and water treatment plants and carrying out works to maintain open spaces, facilities and amenities.
Key components of this position will include:
- Assist in the operation of water and wastewater facilities to meet agreed service levels.
- Monitor, review and report treatment plant data to meet agreed service levels.
- Deliver general labouring, cleaning, gardening and maintenance and repair assistance work to meet agreed service levels.
- Promote information sharing and knowledge transfer to drive evidence-based decision-making, enhance capability and optimise capacity.
Do you have the following skills and experience?
Essential Criteria
- Certificate III qualification in Treatment Plant Operations or equivalent, or equivalent knowledge and skills gained through experience.
- Demonstrated ability to operate minor plant and equipment correctly and safely.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a team including weekend work, on call and after-hours services.
- Construction Induction Certificate (White Card).
- Class MR drivers' licence.
- Hepatitis A &B and tetanus vaccinations.
- Chainsaw Ticket and/or operational competence for trim and crosscut.
- AQF3 Chemical accreditation.
Desirable Criteria
- Demonstrated experience and or relevant qualifications in the parks and town services works (e.g. horticulture, arboriculture, general town maintenance)
- Traffic Control Tickets — 'Traffic Controller' and 'Implement Traffic Control Plans'.
SALARY
Salary will be paid in accordance with the Snowy Valleys Council Salary System at Grade 4 which ranges from $2,232.71 per fortnight (gross) to $2,513.00 per fortnight (gross) dependant on skills, qualifications and experience plus 10.5% superannuation and allowances.
- Council does have flexible work arrangements and whereby there is a 9-day fortnight. Other benefits include:
