Will you be part of the circular economy solution?

You will develop and generate new business opportunities within all segments and products for the Viva Energy Polymers business in the Australia and New Zealand Market.  The key deliverables include development and execution of our Polyethylene and Polypropylene resin growth strategy to maximise value for Viva Energy and our customers.  You will play a part in delivering Circular Economy solutions as Viva Energy develops locally sourced recycled polymers to find meaningful solutions to plastic waste in Australia.

You will work in close collaboration with the local and international Sales team, Supply Chain, Product Management, Finance and Strategic Sourcing teams to ensure we develop a pipeline of development activities and capture ongoing sales that deliver a material increase in our market position.

In this role you will:

• Develop a deep understanding of market segments, customers, product applications and develop opportunities to grow our share and margins via the delivery of innovation technical solutions.
• Manage relationships across a broad level and hold primary responsibility the delivery of technical service and project management.
• Develop a pipeline of new business opportunities with a focus on technical/ innovation projects and assist in developing our growth strategy.
• Ensure business relationships are nurtured with key customer contacts to protect & grow our sales.
• Continually reinforce Viva Energy’s value proposition to customers to maximise revenue & margin.
• Progress our Circular Economy agenda via securing opportunities to supply both mechanically and advanced recycled polymers to converters and brands.
• In conjunction with Product Management, co-ordinate and promote the Market Development and commercialisation of new grades with customers and brand owners.

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate strong technical competence in the fields of polyolefins and masterbatch, experience in delivering technical projects with consideration of the commercial elements required for success and a proven track record in managing internal and external relationships across a wide range of Technical and non-technical stakeholders.

This role requires a highly collaborative and driven candidate with the ability to identify opportunities through market knowledge and technical experience to delivery profitable and sustainable commercial outcomes for all parties.

About you:

You will be a strategic, technically focused leader with Tertiary qualifications in an Engineering or Applied Science discipline, along with Intermediate IT capabilities (SAP R3 or JDE, Microsoft Office, Salesforce etc.). You will have a proven history of relationship building, collaboration, negotiation, contracts, pricing and aligning multiple stakeholders towards a common goal. You should be comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy and with little direction or supervision from the line manager.  Previous experience in distribution sales will be advantageous.

The role will be based in VIC, with interstate and trans-Tasman travel required from time to time.
