About the job

As a Technical Cadet based at Port Lincoln your main responsibility will be working towards providing technical and operational engineering support for the Western region. You will assist in providing surveying, drafting, and estimating services for both water and wastewater infrastructure projects. You will also contribute to the project management process by developing and maintaining project documentation. This role will be a combination of being in the office and working across the Eyre Peninsula up to Whyalla to Ceduna.

This is a 4-year maximum term position, offering a unique opportunity to kickstart your career at SA Water, by studying and gaining a diploma in civil/mechanical engineering with us. Teamwork is essential in this role, as you will need to collaborate with other team members, participate in team briefings, and work towards team objectives. Additionally, you will be required to complete off-job training sessions, complete study modules and achieve the required qualifications within the specified timeframe. You will be surrounded by a supportive team who will guide and support you.

Your success in this role will come from:

  • Completion of Year 12 SACE
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A current driver’s licence
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar (desirable)

As this is a study while you learn opportunity and to really create a career for yourself, the first year salary per annum is $60,552.10 and goes up each year roughly $4,000. An excellent opportunity for an individual looking for a STEM based Career.
