Job Description
We are on the hunt for a Technical Course Developer to join our team in the construction training sector. This role is tailor-made for someone who excels in creating educational content that meets the complex needs of the construction training industry, with a heavy focus on compliance and regulation. The ideal candidate doesn’t necessarily need to specialise in our industry, but a background in industrial or Technical Course development would be highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Course Development: Develop comprehensive training materials including assessment criteria and student interaction, ensuring adherence to industry standards and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborative Content Creation: Work closely with industry experts and trainers to ensure the course content is relevant, practical, and aligns with real-world operating environments.
  • Compliance Interpretation and Application: Analyse and interpret compliance and regulatory requirements from authorities, converting them into effective assessment materials.
  • Curriculum Design and Review: Construct detailed course outlines, modules, and assessments, keeping in mind the stringent needs of a compliance-centric sector.
  • Continuous Content Updating: Regularly refine and update course materials in response to industry developments, regulatory changes, and stakeholder feedback.
  • Project Management: Efficiently manage project timelines and resources to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality course content.
Requirements
Essential Skills & Qualifications
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong background in Technical Course development, preferably with exposure to technical and operationally-complex business content.
  • Excellent Communication: Exceptional writing skills, capable of producing clear and engaging training materials.
  • Collaborative Approach: Proven ability to work effectively with trainers and industry experts, gathering input to enrich course content.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Innovative problem-solving abilities, particularly in interpreting and applying regulatory and compliance information.
  • Organisational Skills: Excellent project management and organisational abilities, with a sharp eye for detail.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility in adapting to new information and changing industry standards.
  • Educational Background: Diploma in Education, Instructional Design, or a related field is preferred; Degree-qualification is desirable but not essential
Desirable Experience
  • Industry Exposure: Experience in or familiarity with the construction or adjacent sectors is advantageous.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Experience in digesting and applying regulatory and compliance documents in an educational context.
