About the Role:
WorkPac is currently seeking a skilled Technical Design Officer for our client, based at Marleston South. The Technical Design Officer (Fibre) will be responsible for the timely delivery of designs for fibre-based bearers and Line Isolation for copper-based systems for both regulated and unregulated projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for field-based installation and service restoration personnel.
- Perform commissioning, inspections, and produce "As built" documentation.
- Manage changes to optical fibre network records and drawings.
- Identify, interpret, and specify customer needs on projects.
- Evaluate and recommend various telecommunication hardware and software solutions.
- Stay updated on National and International telecommunications developments.
- Maintain up-to-date records of SA Power Networks Fibre assets and services.
- Provide consultancy and design for Telecommunications networks on optical fibre cables.
- Offer technical assistance to field personnel during installation and service restoration.
- Conduct inspections, produce documentation, and manage changes to network drawings.
Skills and Responsibilities
- Advanced Diploma in Telecommunications/Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
- Class C Drivers Licence
- ACMA Open Registration with endorsements (desirable)
