Our client is a well-established designer and manufacturer of specialised industrial equipment. Right now, they are going through a dramatic increase in business due to global contacts – requiring a new manufacturing plant, the expansion of manufacturing facilities, new manufacturing processes and new product types.
These are the “problems” all manufacturing businesses would love to have!
It’s a case of “all hands on deck” to cope with the massive growth of the business!
New Technical Documentation – of a variety of types – is required to support this growth. This Technical Writer role is a new, support position which will ensure that the urgent needs of the expanding business in the areas of:
- process documentation
- quality systems
- (new) product operating manuals.
This is an employee-oriented work environment: there is huge flexibility to accommodate diverse candidate backgrounds. It could suit:
- A retired “expert” – who wishes to “stay in touch” with some interesting part time work.
- A person building their career, who might see this as a step to larger technical or management roles. (Our client would support further studies.)
- An experienced contractor.
- An employee – who was looking for a hybrid working arrangement.
It is anticipated that Candidates for this role will:
- Have some type of technical training / qualification relevant to a manufacturing environment.
- Be able to demonstrate sound experience in developing Technical Documentation – relating to products and manufacturing and safety processes.
Relevant or comparable industry experience would be in fabrication shops, metals machining and assembly businesses, the assembly or customisation of industrial equipment – such as compressors, gen. sets, pumping installations, - as well as many other similar environments.
