About the opportunity

Airbus in Australia Pacific has an opportunity for a Technical Inspector to join our Warehouse team in sunny Darwin!

About the role

As a member of the Darwin Warehouse Team, this role is responsible for the inspection, monitoring and maintenance of the serviceability status of aeronautical product within the Darwin warehouse inventory. This position works in accordance and compliance with all processes, systems and tools set by the Senior Manager Material Support and Logistics to enable service delivery excellence.

Reporting to Darwin Warehouse and Customer Logistics Team Lead, this role is responsible for the technical / quality inspections of aeronautical product received as new purchase or return from repair before entering the Airbus AP inventory or customer inventory systems.

About you

To be successful in this role, it is a requirement to be able to work in a team environment, have well developed stakeholder engagement and expectation management skills as well as good verbal and written skills.

You will need to be someone who is able to work autonomously and to tight deadlines and work comfortably in a continuous improvement work environment.

The skills and experience best suited to this role include:

  • Broad knowledge of warehouse and storage principles
  • Broad knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations (e.g., DASR, CASA, EASA, NZCAA, FAA, ITAR, export and import controls), standards and best practices relevant to warehouse and storage
  • High level of knowledge pertaining to the technical inspection on receipt of aeronautical product
  • High level of experience in performing storage maintenance and shelf life/re life action in accordance with standards and specifications
  • Working knowledge of Aviation and Defence regulatory requirements
  • Background in Aviation maintenance

It would be desirable (however not mandatory) that you also have:

  • Familiarity with Australian and/or New Zealand Defence Forces, Defence Supply & Inventory Management Systems (e.g. MILIS)
  • Familiarity of SAP
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, Defence Supply requirements detailed in the Electronic Defence Supply Chain Manual
  • Change Management qualifications
  • Formal Defence CAMM2 user qualifications
  • Certificate IV in Aeroskills

Applicants must be eligible for an Australian Government Security Clearance and have the capacity to satisfy pre-employment medical screening which may include drug and alcohol testing.
