An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Technical Sales and Operations Support Engineer to join our highly dedicated team in our Perth Office based in Willetton.  This role will provide a fantastic development opportunity for the appropriate candidate and allow them to play an integral part in the Sales and Operational support objectives of the company which will include intra/interstate travel in accordance with business requirements.  The role will manage pre and post sales responsibilities encompassing product, service and solutions outcomes with the objective of providing Customers with complete product life cycle value offerings and where required formalised asset management outcomes.

Reporting to the Branch Manager, some key responsibilities include:

• Liaise with clients to promote new products, services and solutions to satisfy evolving customer and market requirements.
• Integrate Commercial / Operational objectives associated with, but not limited to:
• Products - develop sound technical understanding, playing a proactive role in identification and introduction of new products complementing the existing range, etc, 
• Services - becoming intimately familiar with our service offerings by actively participating in the execution and delivery of such services to ensure a good balance of sales and operational competencies are developed.
• Solutions - embracing and contributing to the solution capabilities portfolio being developed by SF, identify & develop “value add” outcomes for our customers, etc.
• Play an integral role in the design, development and implementation of necessary management systems supporting the products, services and solutions objectives of the SF Business. 
• Being able to represent the SF business effectively and competently in matters involving technical engineering subject matter as appropriate.
• Support the Branch Manager and Branch operations from a technical/engineering perspective based on relevant qualifications and capabilities and as circumstances demand.
• Preparing and following up on quotations and processing orders
• Being familiar with our service offerings 
• Ensuring a good balance of sales and operational competencies
• Driving sales and generating new business leads through proactive outbound calling.
• Developing business relationships and providing an exceptional level of customer service
• Providing technical advice and support to customers over the phone
• Supporting external sales staff in developing and converting business/sales opportunities
• Successfully meeting sales targets and KPI's
• Receiving, picking, packing and dispatching of goods.

To succeed in this role, you ideally will have the following attributes:

• Trade and/or Degree Qualifications preferred
• A minimum of 3 years Technical Sales and engineering experience
• Strong client liaison and relationships building skills
• Have great communication skills 
• Well developed negotiation and time management skills
• An excellent phone manner and computer skills
• Forklift ticket (preferred, not essential – willing to undergo training)
• Prior experience in hydraulics, electrical or mechanical industries preferred 
• Proven ability to achieve targets
• Have a strong mechanical aptitude
