Job Purpose

The TS/MS Representative partners with and coordinates activities at contract manufacturers in the Asia Pacific Region. The job scope includes product introduction, technology transfer, validation, process improvement, process monitoring, and troubleshooting of manufacturing problems.

The TS/MS Representative acts as the primary contact for technical matters between EEM-APAC, contract manufacturers, and Elanco corporate functional groups.

Major Responsibilities

  • Provide technical ownership for manufacturing processes
  • Lead technical governance for Elanco contract manufacturers
  • Drive continuous improvement and business risk minimization efforts
  • Professionally manage Elanco-internal or external collaborative projects
1. Technical ownership for manufacturing processes
  • Thoroughly know and understand the manufacturing process for which they have oversight, from raw materials’ attributes through to finished product testing.
  • Provide trouble shooting and problem resolution for manufacturing difficulties.
  • Provide technical subject matter expertise for process-specific training.
  • Maintain capable manufacturing processes that will stay in a state of control.
  • Support studies for deficiency corrections or that identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Analyse and explore production data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Provide strong technical support by networking with other Elanco SMEs
2. Actively participate in technical governance of contract manufacturers
  • Act as a technical contact between contract manufacturers and EEM-APAC operations.
  • Provide on-site technical assistance to contract manufacturers to assess process
  • capability, assist in product/process improvements, and enhance cost efficiency.
  • Assist contract manufacturers to evaluate and implement plant projects and trials.
  • Assist contract manufacturers to prepare for audits and regulatory inspections.
3. Drive continuous improvement and business risk minimization
  • Stay current with technology best practices and use a fit-for-purpose mindset to apply them.
  • Use appropriate quantitative skills to discover and define process opportunities.
4. Project management of internal and/or external projects
  • Project Manager for local new product introduction and local Manufacturability Review process owner.
  • Assist in ingredient and component sourcing, and packaging change projects.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Process Technology, Chemical Engineering or pertinent Basic Science
  • Previous experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, preferably in a manufacturing or technical services role
  • Previous scientific experience (drug product or active manufacturing, formulation development, GMP testing, food technology)
  • Candidates with experience in industries outside of animal health/pharmaceuticals (such as FMCG) that utilize solids-blending, liquid/suspension/emulsions or sterilization technology are encouraged
  • Aseptic process technology knowledge
  • Knowledge of planning, supply chain, and logistics systems
  • Mechanical and equipment knowledge
  • Project Management training and direct experience with managing projects
  • Basic statistical fluency. Possess the ability to explore data using simple statistical tools.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Australia.
