Working at CQUniversityAn exciting opportunity has become available within CQUniversity’s School of Nursing, Midwifery, and Social Sciences (SNMSS) as a Technical Simulation Officer. SNMSS are renowned for our leadership in nursing education. This unique opportunity as a nursing technician will support the simulation and practical learning activities across our Nursing courses.
In this role, you will be responsible for organising and setting up the equipment to simulate a healthcare setting in our clinical learning spaces (no direct healthcare experience required, but beneficial). You will organise the relevant equipment and resources which simulates real life situations and facilitates the learning experience for our students. Our ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills that are utilised when providing a range of administrative support including purchasing and replenishing resources, and activities related to workplace health and safety, in collaboration with technician staff.
We offer flexibility in working hours as our clinical learning suites are open seven days a week during our student peak seasons. This position would suit healthcare professionals, students, or individuals looking to re-enter the workforce in a health setting.

- High level interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience, or ability to rapidly acquire skills to prepare resources and operate a range of clinical instrumentation or specialised Clinical Learning Suite equipment.
- Completion of a Diploma with 2 years of relevant work experience, or a certificate with significant relevant experience in a health field (or an equivalent combination of experience and/or qualifications).
- Demonstrated ability to deliver quality technical support and arrange equipment maintenance and repairs across the health disciplines.
- Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety requirements.
