Skills and Experience Required
Freshcare is seeking Committee Members who have a sound knowledge of the Australian fresh produce and/or wine industry and a combination of skills and expertise as outlined in the Technical Steering Committee (TSC) Skills Matrix following.
Seeking individuals with expertise and experience in several areas:
- Food safety and quality management systems
- Environmental / sustainability management systems
- Food Safety Regulation(s)
- Operational Expertise – on farm / supply chain /retail
- Operational Knowledge of the wine industry
- Sustainable agricultural practices
- Environmental stewardship and conservation
- Demonstrated Commercial Acumen
- Retailer Industry Knowledge
- Leadership
- Understanding of HACCP
- Risk Management
- Emerging Trends Research
- Marketing - Implementing Change
- Data Analysis in Decision Making

About the Technical Steering Committee (TSC)
The Freshcare TSC plays a crucial role in maintaining our standards, ensuring they remain relevant, effective, and aligned with industry needs and best practice. As a TSC member, you will collaborate with industry experts, stakeholders, and staff to review standards, make recommendations, and drive continuous improvement across our programs.
The Freshcare TSC is a committee of 13 members. As we move into a period of standards review it is expected that the TSC members will contribute to the review with at least two (2) face to face meetings in Sydney annually. Small subgroups of the TEC may be formed to address specific technical areas, these subgroups will be based on Committee Member expertise and experience.

Remuneration
A nominal scheduled meeting fee, two (2) per year, is being made available as is pre-authorised meeting expenses.
Selection Criteria
- Currently working within or a sound knowledge of the Australian fresh produce and/or wine industry.
- Horticulture, viticulture or agriculture production, distribution and/or marketing experience.
- Quality and food safety systems in the horticulture, viticulture, or agriculture supply chain.
- Food safety or environmental policy.
