Why Your Role Matters: The Technical Support Group (TSG) provides technical leadership, guidance, advice and services across the School of Engineering and Technology (SET) and the Faculty to deliver high-quality, practical engineering programs and research outcomes. The TSG provides Engineering andTechnical Support to the teaching and research activities of the school through the provision of mechanical manufacturing, electronic design, repair and manufacturing, laboratory testing and oversight, and professional engineering design services and support. The Technical Support Manager leads the TSG team, ensuring effective support and services are delivered to SETs Teaching and Research areas and the operations of TSGs laboratories and workshops are appropriately maintained and accessible. Responsibilities: The position will oversee the performance, organisation and management of the 3 sub-teams consisting of 18 employees within the TSG to ensure efficient and effective service delivery. The Technical Support Manager will assist the Engineering Manager in leading the team during the current transition phase to a high-quality, customer-focused, and results-driven culture that will involve managing change, including people management and efficiency issues. Who You Are: A qualified Engineer or Senior Technician with extensive managerial experience in a technical environment. Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Extensive and proven people management skill Dedicated collaborator capable of meeting deadlines in a high-volume environment, and fostering strong stakeholder relationships.
