Main Roads is not just about roads. It’s about people. What work will I be doing? Main Roads Western Australia is offering a two (2) Traineeships to enthusiastic and invested individuals who are interested in working in and around the Kimberley Region. Based in Derby and working as part of the Region’s laboratory team, this two-year Technical Traineeship will give you with the opportunity to develop a variety of hands on experience, including but not limited to: Field testing on construction materials Laboratory chemical and physical testing of construction materials Operating and maintaining testing equipment Assisting with calibrating road testing and construction equipment Assistance with pavement and surfacing investigations Along with some formal training, you’ll learn on-the-job, guided by your supervisor and a network of support that will help you feel like a valued member of the community. This opportunity is in the iconic Kimberly region, which is home to magnificent canyons, some of the world’s most amazing wildlife and an extensive network of 4WD tracks and outback stations. As part of the traineeship you will: work full time with Main Roads while completing your two year traineeship attend classroom based training in Perth twice a year, with all our other trainees across the State. be supported every step of the way – our friendly Trainee Coordinator is dedicated to ensuring you are developing and learning at your best.
