About the role
Reporting to the Geology Foreman the purpose of this role is to assist the underground mine geologists with day-to-day activities related to processing of UG drill core, to ensure the prompt turn-around of assay results.
Key result areas in this role include:
- Processing of diamond drill core in a timely and accurate manner eg: meter marks, RQD, orientation lines, core photography, half-core or whole-core sampling, sample dispatch and pulp returns to ensure the timely turn-around of assays
- Assisting UG Mine Geologists with UG mapping and sampling duties if/as required and as directed
- Maintaining the core farm, geology sea containers and core shed in high standard of cleanliness and order
- Cleaning, refuelling, and maintaining geology vehicles to a high standard.
- Actively participating in regular safety inspections and safety meetings
- Maintaining health, safety, statutory, regulatory, and licensing standards, and principles, both within own workplace and through the identification of potential risks throughout Evolution

About you
You must be reliable, have a strong work ethic, and strive to be part of a high performing team. This role will require you to be willing to carry out a variance of tasks as directed by your supervisor.
To be successful in this role, it is important that you have/can demonstrate:
- Current C Class Drivers Licence
- Forklift Ticket desirable
- Experience in an open pit mining environment desirable
- Willingness to always work safely.
- Ability to prioritise and schedule work
