Our client is an Australian-based full-service telecommunications company that provides end to end solutions in access, transit and wireless telecommunications networks, and offers design, installation and maintenance services, that covers regional and remote locations across Tasmania, Victoria and South Australia. They are currently seeking a Rigger who can work across their Tasmania sites.

You will be based in the Hobart, TAS warehouse for 2 -3 weeks in a month where you are tasked with construction and maintenance of communications masts/ towers including radio and TV towers.

You will be receiving very generous LAFA (Living Away from Home Allowance) and will also be paid overtime for extra hours worked.

As a permanent, casual employee you will have annual leave and sick leave and will also be given a car allowance to travel to the site in.

You will be receiving Training and Development as the company continues to grow, and be assigned to work interesting and crucial projects, while also receiving generous overtime pay and mental health allowance.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Install, test and maintain telecommunications equipment mounted on high structures
  • Installing and maintaining radio links
  • Installing and maintaining wave guide feeder cables
  • Liaise with Supervisor/s and/or Manager on project timing or issues
  • Ensure timely completion of all project activities

To be successful in the role, you will need to have:
  • Knowledge of feeder and antenna installation
  • Detailed knowledge of rigging practices as applicable to communications construction
  • Obtainable appropriate compliance certifications including but not limited to; Drivers Licence, Construction White Card, First Aid and CPR Certificate, RF Awareness, Current High-Risk Licence and Working at Heights and Fitness Level to pass Fit to Climb Medical

Preferred / Desired Qualifications include:
  • Truck licence, medium or heavy rigid
  • Certificate III, IV or Associate Diploma in Telecommunications and/or equivalent field experience
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, installation and commissioning of communications projects
  • Extensive knowledge of mobile communications, broadband and broadcasting and in other applications of general communications
  • Experience in performing installation, integration, testing and commissioning of communications projects
