Telecommunications Cable Jointer – WAComnik Pty Ltd is a telecommunication contract company located in Perth that has been installing and managing quality telecommunications projects in Western Australia for almost 10 years.

We are a rapidly growing business and we have successfully delivered several projects related to telecommunications network build and maintenance during the last few years with the outstanding quality of workmanship. Further, Our business is going through an expanding phase currently and due to the increment of the workload, we are looking for experienced Telecommunications Cable jointers for the telecommunications projects and maintenance works in Perth, Tom Price, and Paraburdoo areas.

Requirements

  • A certificate or diploma certification in Telecommunications engineering.
  • 1-2 years plus previous telecommunications industry experience as a cable jointer.
  • Or minimum 6 years’ experience in Telecommunication industry as a Faults men or lines worker.
  • Fit to work hard outside under the heat whole day.

You need to be willing to travel all over Western Australia working on a variety of sites, if required, earn whilst you develop a highly sought-after skillset and specialize in technology streams on the National Broadband Network. (NBN)

What will the job entail?

You will be committed to completing practical and theory-based study. You will thrive working independently or as part of a team, and love the challenge of multi-tasking and solving technical problems.

In addition to these qualities, you will be exposed to:

  • The NBN network
  • Fiber optics
  • Cable and free to air TV
  • Voice and data cabling
  • Telecommunications networks

Pay 70-75K excluding Superannuation.

This position will grant you exposure to different areas of telecommunications and a better understanding of the field.

You will have a variety of duties including, but not limited to.

  • Installing underground and overhead telecommunications cables.
  • Troubleshooting faults in the telecommunication cable lines and equipment including fault tracing using ohmmeters, voltmeters, ammeters and cable fault locators.
  • Deploying telecommunication cable lines and relevant telecom equipment by examining cable plans, civil maps and specifications documents.
  • Telecom cable joints new installations and reinstallations including watertight sealings.
  • Installation of communication cabinets, distribution points and terminations.
  • Termination of network lines to the telecommunication equipment in the customer premises and telecom sites.
  • Testing, replacing, adjusting and repairing faulty telecommunication equipment using various electronic instruments.
  • Installation of internal wiring for IPTV, Internet and Voice.

  • Possesses full rights to work in Australia
  • Strong communication skills
  • Be physically fit and not afraid of hard work
  • Willing and able to climb up and down heights and confine spaces.
  • Be able to successfully pass pre-employment background checks and Police Clearance.
  • Experience Technician who currently work in the industry.
  • Or any Graduate Degree holder to start as a Trainee.
  • Or Completed Year 12 and/or holds integrated technologies or electronics qualifications
  • Have a passion for technology
  • Understand safety is our priority and will need to be yours
  • Enjoy learning on the job and in a classroom
  • Can adjust to different work environments
  • Are punctual and take pride in their work
  • Work well in teams and have great communication skills
  • Enjoy problem solving and working with their hands
  • Hold a current driver license and have reliable transportation.
