Newly created opportunity to lead the strategic development and delivery of Telefundraising programs across a multi-million dollar fundraising portfolio for the Royal Flying Doctor Service-South Eastern Section.

The Royal Flying Doctor Service - South Eastern Section provides lifesaving aeromedical and primary healthcare services to rural, regional, and remote communities.

This a newly created opportunity to work across an established fundraising program that has grown rapidly and experienced significant success within the past 5 years.

The Telefundraising Manager will play a vital role in managing the fundraising teams’ phone engagement across multiple fundraising channels and will bring best practices to all forms of telephone contact with donors. They will also manage a Supporter Relations team, and lead the direction and engagement of multiple telefundraising agencies. 
  
This is an opportunity to work across the entire fundraising program to provide strategic advice and implement data-driven initiatives across telefundraising areas that include acquisition, lead conversion, recapture, reactivation, appeal renewal and reinstatement, upgrades, welcome and engagement, high-level giving, mid-level giving, and bequests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the telefundraising program across multiple fundraising channels, providing strategic advice, strategic direction, problem-solving, and guidance
  • Develop and consult on the development of a telefundraising strategy, as well as annual income and expenditure budgets
  • Develop tailored donor communication through telephone scripts, and work with the fundraising managers to ensure supporter communication is aligned to telefundraising
  • Manage agency partnerships, and develop telefundraising production plans to meet acquisition and retention goals
  • Monitor ongoing phone communications and develop new call programs that help diversify channels of engagement
  • With support from the Data team, implement data segmentation strategies that maximise life-time value by ensuring the right message, to the right donor, at the right time
  • Promote best practices on supporter engagement through phone communication
  • In coordination with fundraising managers, develop annual telemarketing strategies and achieve income, expenditure and engagement targets
  • Lead and inspire a team of Supporter Relations staff, including the Supporter Relations Senior Coordinator who oversees a team and volunteers that serve as the main point of contact for all donors post-acquisition
Skills and Experience
  • Proven success leading a telefundraising program withing a NFP setting, or a similar program in a call centre environment or agency
  • Experience providing strategic direction and leading donor telefundraising communication plans to meet objectives across welcome and engagement, acquisition, lead conversion, renewal, and annual campaigns
  • Strong data analysis skills to drive both acquisition and retention strategies and to make recommendations and report back on program performance
  • Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to build trusting and positive working relationships internally and externally
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to report on progress and outcomes
  • A proven track record in establishing and achieving goals and working as part of a team to make an impact on campaigns
